³⁰ When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished.” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

The Piercing of Jesus’ Side

³¹ Since it was the Day of Preparation, to prevent bodies from remaining on the cross on the Sabbath day (for that Sabbath day was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. ³² Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him.
